Skins to be celebrated on its own,

Our icon of endurance that faded not,

Helpless echoes of silenced screams,

The embodiment of weighted sorrow and agony.

Priceless skin, spent toiling away for invaders,

Skins once deprived of freedom,

Bound in the shackles of slavery.

A skin never meant to be looked down upon,

Though they knew not its worth,

But the worth of its land.

Treating our abode like a zoo full of gold,

Aiming to trap the animals and claim the treasure.

Though robbed of resources and power,

Yet, our land survived.

Our skin, our pride,

It portrays our strength to stand still in storms,

Endowed with the beauty of its continent.

Now we stand tall in our freedom;

Upholding our dignity,

Black History!

We are Unchained Africa.
